THE TREE OF
LIFE - Artist: Nina Snyder - Genesis 2
Note from the Artist:
In the Garden of Eden, the Tree of Life
is within reach, but the fruit on the tree of the knowledge of good and evil
seems more enticing. To decide for ourselves what is good and what is evil
rather than yielding such questions to our Creator – isn’t that what tempts us
daily?
Enter the serpent. Satan entices us
humans, but from the beginning of time, he really has aimed his ultimate malice
to wound, if not to overthrow, the Lamb of God.

In the
Garden of Eden - Creation of Man & Woman
And on the seventh day God ended His work
which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He
had done. 3 Then God
blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His
work which God had created and made.
4 This is the history of
the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God
made the earth and the heavens,
5 before any plant of the field was in the earth and before any herb of
the field had grown. For the LORD God had not caused it to rain on the earth,
and there was no man to till the ground;
6 but a mist went up from
the earth and watered the whole face of the ground.
7 And the LORD God formed
man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of
life; and man became a living being.
Life in God’s Garden
8 The LORD God planted a garden
eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed.
9 And out of the ground
the LORD God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for
food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the
knowledge of good and evil.
10 Now a river went out
of Eden to water the garden, and from there it parted and became four
riverheads. 11 The name
of the first is Pishon; it is the one which skirts the whole land of Havilah,
where there is gold. 12
And the gold of that land is good. Bdellium and the onyx stone are there.
13 The name of the second
river is Gihon; it is the one which goes around the whole land of Cush.
14 The name of the third
river is Hiddekel; it is the one which goes toward the east of Assyria. The
fourth river is the Euphrates.
15 Then the LORD God took
the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.
16 And the LORD God
commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat;
17 but of the tree of the
knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it
you shall surely die.”
18 And the LORD God said,
“It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to
him.” 19 Out of the
ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air,
and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam
called each living creature, that was its name.
20 So Adam gave names to
all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for
Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him.
21 And the LORD God
caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs,
and closed up the flesh in its place.
22 Then the rib which the
LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
23 And Adam said:
“This is now bone of my bones
And flesh of my flesh;
She shall be called Woman,
Because she was taken out of Man.”
24 Therefore a man shall leave his
father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
25 And they were both
naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

God remembers
Noah
Genesis 8:1-19
1 Then God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and
all the animals that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind to
pass over the earth, and the waters subsided. 2 The fountains of the deep and the windows of heaven were
also stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained. 3 And the waters receded continually from the earth. At
the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters decreased. 4 Then the ark rested in the seventh month, the
seventeenth day of the month, on the mountains of Ararat. 5 And the waters decreased continually until the tenth
month. In the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops
of the mountains were seen. 6 So it
came to pass, at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark
which he had made. 7 Then he sent out a
raven, which kept going to and fro until the waters had dried up from the earth.
8 He also sent out from himself a dove, to
see if the waters had receded from the face of the ground. 9 But the dove found no resting place for the sole of her
foot, and she returned into the ark to him, for the waters were on the
face of the whole earth. So he put out his hand and took her, and drew her into
the ark to himself. 10 And he waited yet
another seven days, and again he sent the dove out from the ark. 11 Then the dove came to him in the evening, and behold, a
freshly plucked olive leaf was in her mouth; and Noah knew that the
waters had receded from the earth. 12 So
he waited yet another seven days and sent out the dove, which did not return
again to him anymore. 13 And it came to pass in the six hundred and first year,
in the first month, the first day of the month, that the waters
were dried up from the earth; and Noah removed the covering of the ark and
looked, and indeed the surface of the ground was dry. 14 And in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of
the month, the earth was dried. 15
Then God spoke to Noah, saying, 16 “Go out
of the ark, you and your wife, and your sons and your sons’ wives with you.
17 Bring out with you every living thing
of all flesh that is with you: birds and cattle and every creeping thing
that creeps on the earth, so that they may abound on the earth, and be fruitful
and multiply on the earth.” 18 So Noah
went out, and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him. 19 Every animal, every creeping thing, every
bird, and whatever creeps on the earth, according to their families, went
out of the ark.
The Ten
Commandments
Exodus 20:1-17
1
And God spoke all these words, saying:
2 “I am the LORD
your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 “You shall have
no other gods before Me.
4 “You shall not
make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven
above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;
5 you shall not bow down
to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the
iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of
those who hate Me, 6 but
showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
7 “You shall not
take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him
guiltless who takes His name in vain.
8 “ Remember the
Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
10 but the seventh day
is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your
son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your
cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates.
11 For in six days the
LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them,
and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and
hallowed it.
12 “ Honor your
father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD
your God is giving you.
13 “You shall
not murder.
14 “You shall
not commit adultery.
15 “You shall
not steal.
16 “You shall
not bear false witness against your neighbor.
17 “You shall
not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor
his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor
anything that is your neighbor’s.”
Abraham
Genesis 22:1-19
Abraham’s Faith Confirmed
1
Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him,
“Abraham!”
And he said, “Here I am.”
2 Then He said, “Take now
your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and
offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall
tell you.”
3 So Abraham rose early
in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him,
and Isaac his son; and he split the wood for the burnt offering, and arose and
went to the place of which God had told him.
4 Then on the third day
Abraham lifted his eyes and saw the place afar off.
5 And Abraham said to his
young men, “Stay here with the donkey; the lad and I will go yonder and worship,
and we will come back to you.”
6 So Abraham took the
wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son; and he took the fire in
his hand, and a knife, and the two of them went together.
7 But Isaac spoke to
Abraham his father and said, “My father!”
And he said, “Here I am, my son.”
Then he said, “Look, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt
offering?”
8 And Abraham said, “My
son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering.” So the two of
them went together.
9 Then they came to the
place of which God had told him. And Abraham built an altar there and placed the
wood in order; and he bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar, upon the
wood. 10 And Abraham
stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.
11 But the Angel of the
LORD called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!”
So he said, “Here I am.”
12 And He said, “Do not
lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear
God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”
13 Then Abraham lifted
his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its
horns. So Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt offering
instead of his son. 14
And Abraham called the name of the place, The-LORD-Will-Provide; as it is said
to this day, “In the Mount of the LORD it shall be provided.”
15 Then the Angel of the
LORD called to Abraham a second time out of heaven,
16 and said: “By Myself
I have sworn, says the LORD, because you have done this thing, and have not
withheld your son, your only son—
17 blessing I will bless
you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven
and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the
gate of their enemies. 18
In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have
obeyed My voice.” 19 So
Abraham returned to his young men, and they rose and went together to Beersheba;
and Abraham dwelt at Beersheba.
Elijah’s Mount Carmel
Victory
1 Kings 18:20-40
20 So Ahab sent for all
the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together on Mount Carmel.
21 And Elijah came to
all the people, and said, “How long will you falter between two opinions? If the
LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” But the people answered him
not a word. 22 Then
Elijah said to the people, “I alone am left a prophet of the LORD; but Baal’s
prophets are four hundred and fifty men.
23 Therefore let them
give us two bulls; and let them choose one bull for themselves, cut it in
pieces, and lay it on the wood, but put no fire under it; and I will prepare the
other bull, and lay it on the wood, but put no fire under it.
24 Then you call on the
name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the LORD; and the God who
answers by fire, He is God.”
So all the people answered and said, “It is well spoken.”
25 Now Elijah said to
the prophets of Baal, “Choose one bull for yourselves and prepare it first, for
you are many; and call on the name of your god, but put no fire under it.”
26 So they took the
bull which was given them, and they prepared it, and called on the name of Baal
from morning even till noon, saying, “O Baal, hear us!” But there was no voice;
no one answered. Then they leaped about the altar which they had made.
27 And so it was, at
noon, that Elijah mocked them and said, “Cry aloud, for he is a god; either he
is meditating, or he is busy, or he is on a journey, or perhaps he is sleeping
and must be awakened.” 28
So they cried aloud, and cut themselves, as was their custom, with knives and
lances, until the blood gushed out on them.
29 And when midday was
past, they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice.
But there was no voice; no one answered, no one paid attention.
30 Then Elijah said to
all the people, “Come near to me.” So all the people came near to him. And he
repaired the altar of the LORD that was broken down.
31 And Elijah took
twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, to
whom the word of the LORD had come, saying, “Israel shall be your name.”
32 Then with the stones
he built an altar in the name of the LORD; and he made a trench around the altar
large enough to hold two seahs of seed.
33 And he put the wood
in order, cut the bull in pieces, and laid it on the wood, and said, “Fill four
waterpots with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice and on the wood.”
34 Then he said, “Do it
a second time,” and they did it a second time; and he said, “Do it a third
time,” and they did it a third time.
35 So the water ran all
around the altar; and he also filled the trench with water.
36 And it came to pass,
at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet
came near and said, “LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known
this day that You are God in Israel and I am Your servant, and that I have done
all these things at Your word.
37 Hear me, O LORD,
hear me, that this people may know that You are the LORD God, and that You have
turned their hearts back to You again.”
38 Then the fire of the
LORD fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the
dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench.
39 Now when all the
people saw it, they fell on their faces; and they said, “The LORD, He is God!
The LORD, He is God!”
40 And Elijah said to
them, “Seize the prophets of Baal! Do not let one of them escape!” So they
seized them; and Elijah brought them down to the Brook Kishon and executed them
there.
Elijah Escapes from
Jezebel
1 Kings 19:1-10
1
And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, also how he had executed all the
prophets with the sword. 2
Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So let the gods do to me, and
more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow
about this time.” 3 And
when he saw that, he arose and ran for his life, and went to Beersheba, which
belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.
4 But he himself went a
day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree. And
he prayed that he might die, and said, “It is enough! Now, LORD, take my life,
for I am no better than my fathers!”
5 Then as he lay and
slept under a broom tree, suddenly an angel touched him, and said to
him, “Arise and eat.” 6
Then he looked, and there by his head was a cake baked on coals, and a jar of
water. So he ate and drank, and lay down again.
7 And the angel
of the LORD came back the second time, and touched him, and said, “Arise
and eat, because the journey is too great for you.”
8 So he arose, and ate
and drank; and he went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights
as far as Horeb, the mountain of God.
9 And there he went into
a cave, and spent the night in that place; and behold, the word of the LORD came
to him, and He said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
10 So he said, “I have
been very zealous for the LORD God of hosts; for the children of Israel have
forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the
sword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life.”
God’s Revelation to Elijah
1 Kings 19:11-18
11 Then He said, “Go
out, and stand on the mountain before the LORD.” And behold, the LORD passed by,
and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in
pieces before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind; and after the wind an
earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake;
12 and after the
earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a still
small voice.
13 So it was, when
Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood
in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, “What are
you doing here, Elijah?”
14 And he said, “I have
been very zealous for the LORD God of hosts; because the children of Israel have
forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the
sword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life.”
15 Then the LORD said
to him: “Go, return on your way to the Wilderness of Damascus; and when you
arrive, anoint Hazael as king over Syria.
16 Also you shall
anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi as king over Israel. And Elisha the son of Shaphat
of Abel Meholah you shall anoint as prophet in your place.
17 It shall be that
whoever escapes the sword of Hazael, Jehu will kill; and whoever escapes the
sword of Jehu, Elisha will kill.
18 Yet I have reserved
seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, and every
mouth that has not kissed him.”
Elijah the Man of God
2 Kings 1:1-18
God Judges Ahaziah
1
Moab rebelled against Israel after the death of Ahab.
2 Now Ahaziah fell
through the lattice of his upper room in Samaria, and was injured; so he sent
messengers and said to them, “Go, inquire of Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron,
whether I shall recover from this injury.”
3 But the angel of the
LORD said to Elijah the Tishbite, “Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the
king of Samaria, and say to them, ‘Is it because there is no God in Israel that
you are going to inquire of Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron?’
4 Now therefore, thus
says the LORD: ‘You shall not come down from the bed to which you have gone up,
but you shall surely die.’” So Elijah departed.
5 And when the
messengers returned to him, he said to them, “Why have you come back?”
6 So they said to him,
“A man came up to meet us, and said to us, ‘Go, return to the king who sent you,
and say to him, “Thus says the LORD: ‘Is it because there is no God in Israel
that you are sending to inquire of Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore you
shall not come down from the bed to which you have gone up, but you shall surely
die.’”’”
7 Then he said to them,
“What kind of man was it who came up to meet you and told you these words?”
8 So they answered him,
“A hairy man wearing a leather belt around his waist.”
And he said, “It is Elijah the Tishbite.”
9 Then the king sent to
him a captain of fifty with his fifty men. So he went up to him; and there he
was, sitting on the top of a hill. And he spoke to him: “Man of God, the king
has said, ‘Come down!’”
10 So Elijah answered
and said to the captain of fifty, “If I am a man of God, then let fire come down
from heaven and consume you and your fifty men.” And fire came down from heaven
and consumed him and his fifty.
11 Then he sent to him
another captain of fifty with his fifty men.
And he answered and said to him: “Man of God, thus has the king said, ‘Come down
quickly!’”
12 So Elijah answered
and said to them, “If I am a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and
consume you and your fifty men.” And the fire of God came down from heaven and
consumed him and his fifty.
13 Again, he sent a
third captain of fifty with his fifty men. And the third captain of fifty went
up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and pleaded with him, and said
to him: “Man of God, please let my life and the life of these fifty servants of
yours be precious in your sight.
14 Look, fire has come
down from heaven and burned up the first two captains of fifties with their
fifties. But let my life now be precious in your sight.”
15 And the angel
of the LORD said to Elijah, “Go down with him; do not be afraid of him.”
So he arose and went down with him to the king.
16 Then he said to him,
“Thus says the LORD: ‘Because you have sent messengers to inquire of Baal-Zebub,
the god of Ekron, is it because there is no God in Israel to inquire of His
word? Therefore you shall not come down from the bed to which you have gone up,
but you shall surely die.’”
17 So Ahaziah died
according to the word of the LORD which Elijah had spoken. Because he had no
son, Jehoram became king in his place, in the second year of Jehoram the son of
Jehoshaphat, king of Judah.
18 Now the rest of the
acts of Ahaziah which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles
of the kings of Israel?
Elijah Ascends to Heaven
2 Kings 2:1-18
1
And it came to pass, when the LORD was about to take up Elijah into heaven by a
whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.
2 Then Elijah said to
Elisha, “Stay here, please, for the LORD has sent me on to Bethel.”
But Elisha said, “As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave
you!” So they went down to Bethel.
3 Now the sons of the
prophets who were at Bethel came out to Elisha, and said to him, “Do you know
that the LORD will take away your master from over you today?”
And he said, “Yes, I know; keep silent!”
4 Then Elijah said to
him, “Elisha, stay here, please, for the LORD has sent me on to Jericho.”
But he said, “As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!”
So they came to Jericho.
5 Now the sons of the
prophets who were at Jericho came to Elisha and said to him, “Do you know that
the LORD will take away your master from over you today?”
So he answered, “Yes, I know; keep silent!”
6 Then Elijah said to
him, “Stay here, please, for the LORD has sent me on to the Jordan.”
But he said, “As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!”
So the two of them went on. 7
And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went and stood facing them at a
distance, while the two of them stood by the Jordan.
8 Now Elijah took his
mantle, rolled it up, and struck the water; and it was divided this way and
that, so that the two of them crossed over on dry ground.
9 And so it was, when
they had crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask! What may I do for you,
before I am taken away from you?”
Elisha said, “Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.”
10 So he said, “You
have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you,
it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so.”
11 Then it happened, as
they continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with
horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind
into heaven.
12 And Elisha saw it,
and he cried out, “My father, my father, the chariot of Israel and its
horsemen!” So he saw him no more. And he took hold of his own clothes and tore
them into two pieces. 13
He also took up the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and went back and
stood by the bank of the Jordan.
14 Then he took the
mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and struck the water, and said,
“Where is the LORD God of Elijah?” And when he also had struck the water, it was
divided this way and that; and Elisha crossed over.
15 Now when the sons of
the prophets who were from Jericho saw him, they said, “The spirit of Elijah
rests on Elisha.” And they came to meet him, and bowed to the ground before him.
16 Then they said to
him, “Look now, there are fifty strong men with your servants. Please let them
go and search for your master, lest perhaps the Spirit of the LORD has taken him
up and cast him upon some mountain or into some valley.”
And he said, “You shall not send anyone.”
17 But when they urged
him till he was ashamed, he said, “Send them!” Therefore they sent fifty men,
and they searched for three days but did not find him.
18 And when they came
back to him, for he had stayed in Jericho, he said to them, “Did I not say to
you, ‘Do not go’?”
Elisha Performs Miracles
2 Kings 2:19-25
19 Then the men of the
city said to Elisha, “Please notice, the situation of this city is pleasant, as
my lord sees; but the water is bad, and the ground barren.”
20 And he said, “Bring
me a new bowl, and put salt in it.” So they brought it to him.
21 Then he went out to
the source of the water, and cast in the salt there, and said, “Thus says the
LORD: ‘I have healed this water; from it there shall be no more death or
barrenness.’” 22 So the
water remains healed to this day, according to the word of Elisha which he
spoke.
23 Then he went up from
there to Bethel; and as he was going up the road, some youths came from the city
and mocked him, and said to him, “Go up, you baldhead! Go up, you baldhead!”
24 So he turned around
and looked at them, and pronounced a curse on them in the name of the LORD. And
two female bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the youths.
Elisha and the Widow’s Oil
2 Kings 4:1-7
1
A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha,
saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared
the LORD. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves.”
2 So Elisha said to her,
“What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said,
“Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.”
3 Then he said, “Go,
borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors—empty vessels; do not
gather just a few. 4 And
when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then
pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.”
5 So she went from him
and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and
she poured it out. 6 Now
it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, “Bring me
another vessel.”
And he said to her, “There is not another vessel.” So the oil ceased.
7 Then she came and told
the man of God. And he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and
your sons live on the rest.”
The Floating Ax Head
2 Kings 6:1-7
1
And the sons of the prophets said to Elisha, “See now, the place where we dwell
with you is too small for us.
2 Please, let us go to the Jordan, and let every man take a beam from
there, and let us make there a place where we may dwell.”
So he answered, “Go.”
3 Then one said, “Please
consent to go with your servants.”
And he answered, “I will go.”
4 So he went with them. And when they came to the Jordan, they cut down
trees. 5 But as one was
cutting down a tree, the iron ax head fell into the water; and he cried out and
said, “Alas, master! For it was borrowed.”
6 So the man of God
said, “Where did it fall?” And he showed him the place. So he cut off a stick,
and threw it in there; and he made the iron float.
7 Therefore he said,
“Pick it up for yourself.” So he reached out his hand and took it.
David & Goliath
1 Samuel 17:1-54
1
Now the Philistines gathered their armies together to battle, and were gathered
at Sochoh, which belongs to Judah; they encamped between Sochoh and Azekah, in
Ephes Dammim. 2 And Saul
and the men of Israel were gathered together, and they encamped in the Valley of
Elah, and drew up in battle array against the Philistines.
3 The Philistines stood
on a mountain on one side, and Israel stood on a mountain on the other side,
with a valley between them.
4 And a champion went
out from the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, from Gath, whose height was
six cubits and a span. 5
He had a bronze helmet on his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail, and
the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of bronze.
6 And he had bronze
armor on his legs and a bronze javelin between his shoulders.
7 Now the staff of his
spear was like a weaver’s beam, and his iron spearhead weighed six hundred
shekels; and a shield-bearer went before him.
8 Then he stood and
cried out to the armies of Israel, and said to them, “Why have you come out to
line up for battle? Am I not a Philistine, and you the servants of Saul? Choose
a man for yourselves, and let him come down to me.
9 If he is able to fight
with me and kill me, then we will be your servants. But if I prevail against him
and kill him, then you shall be our servants and serve us.”
10 And the Philistine
said, “I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight
together.” 11 When Saul
and all Israel heard these words of the Philistine, they were dismayed and
greatly afraid.
12 Now David was the
son of that Ephrathite of Bethlehem Judah, whose name was Jesse, and who had
eight sons. And the man was old, advanced in years, in the days of Saul.
13 The three oldest
sons of Jesse had gone to follow Saul to the battle. The names of his three sons
who went to the battle were Eliab the firstborn, next to him Abinadab, and the
third Shammah. 14 David
was the youngest. And the three oldest followed Saul.
15 But David
occasionally went and returned from Saul to feed his father’s sheep at
Bethlehem.
16 And the Philistine
drew near and presented himself forty days, morning and evening.
17 Then Jesse said to
his son David, “Take now for your brothers an ephah of this dried grain and
these ten loaves, and run to your brothers at the camp.
18 And carry these ten
cheeses to the captain of their thousand, and see how your brothers fare, and
bring back news of them.” 19
Now Saul and they and all the men of Israel were in the Valley of Elah, fighting
with the Philistines.
20 So David rose early
in the morning, left the sheep with a keeper, and took the things and went as
Jesse had commanded him. And he came to the camp as the army was going out to
the fight and shouting for the battle.
21 For Israel and the
Philistines had drawn up in battle array, army against army.
22 And David left his
supplies in the hand of the supply keeper, ran to the army, and came and greeted
his brothers. 23 Then
as he talked with them, there was the champion, the Philistine of Gath, Goliath
by name, coming up from the armies of the Philistines; and he spoke according to
the same words. So David heard them.
24 And all the men of
Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him and were dreadfully afraid.
25 So the men of Israel
said, “Have you seen this man who has come up? Surely he has come up to defy
Israel; and it shall be that the man who kills him the king will enrich with
great riches, will give him his daughter, and give his father’s house exemption
from taxes in Israel.”
26 Then David spoke to
the men who stood by him, saying, “What shall be done for the man who kills this
Philistine and takes away the reproach from Israel? For who is this
uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?”
27 And the people
answered him in this manner, saying, “So shall it be done for the man who kills
him.”
28 Now Eliab his oldest
brother heard when he spoke to the men; and Eliab’s anger was aroused against
David, and he said, “Why did you come down here? And with whom have you left
those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride and the insolence of your
heart, for you have come down to see the battle.”
29 And David said,
“What have I done now? Is there not a cause?”
30 Then he turned from
him toward another and said the same thing; and these people answered him as the
first ones did.
31 Now when the words
which David spoke were heard, they reported them to Saul; and he sent for him.
32 Then David said to
Saul, “Let no man’s heart fail because of him; your servant will go and fight
with this Philistine.”
33 And Saul said to
David, “You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for
you are a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.”
34 But David said to
Saul, “Your servant used to keep his father’s sheep, and when a lion or a bear
came and took a lamb out of the flock,
35 I went out after it
and struck it, and delivered the lamb from its mouth; and when it arose against
me, I caught it by its beard, and struck and killed it.
36 Your servant has
killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of
them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.”
37 Moreover David said,
“The LORD, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the
bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.”
And Saul said to David, “Go, and the LORD be with you!”
38 So Saul clothed
David with his armor, and he put a bronze helmet on his head; he also clothed
him with a coat of mail. 39
David fastened his sword to his armor and tried to walk, for he had not tested
them. And David said to Saul, “I cannot walk with these, for I have not tested
them.” So David took them off.
40 Then he took his
staff in his hand; and he chose for himself five smooth stones from the brook,
and put them in a shepherd’s bag, in a pouch which he had, and his sling was in
his hand. And he drew near to the Philistine.
41 So the Philistine
came, and began drawing near to David, and the man who bore the shield went
before him. 42 And when
the Philistine looked about and saw David, he disdained him; for he was only a
youth, ruddy and good-looking.
43 So the Philistine
said to David, “Am I a dog, that you come to me with sticks?” And the Philistine
cursed David by his gods. 44
And the Philistine said to David, “Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the
birds of the air and the beasts of the field!”
45 Then David said to
the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin.
But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of
Israel, whom you have defied.
46 This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you
and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp
of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth,
that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
47 Then all this
assembly shall know that the LORD does not save with sword and spear; for the
battle is the LORD’s, and He will give you into our hands.”
48 So it was, when the
Philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David, that David hurried and
ran toward the army to meet the Philistine.
49 Then David put his
hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine
in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his
face to the earth. 50
So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and struck the
Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of David.
51 Therefore David ran
and stood over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and
killed him, and cut off his head with it.
And when the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled.
52 Now the men of
Israel and Judah arose and shouted, and pursued the Philistines as far as the
entrance of the valley and to the gates of Ekron. And the wounded of the
Philistines fell along the road to Shaaraim, even as far as Gath and Ekron.
53 Then the children of
Israel returned from chasing the Philistines, and they plundered their tents.
54 And David took the
head of the Philistine and brought it to Jerusalem, but he put his armor in his
tent.
Job
Job and His Family
in Uz
1
There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was
blameless and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil.
2 And seven sons and
three daughters were born to him.
3 Also, his possessions
were seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen,
five hundred female donkeys, and a very large household, so that this man was
the greatest of all the people of the East.
4 And his sons would go
and feast in their houses, each on his appointed day, and would send and invite
their three sisters to eat and drink with them.
5 So it was, when the
days of feasting had run their course, that Job would send and sanctify them,
and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to
the number of them all. For Job said, “It may be that my sons have sinned and
cursed God in their hearts.” Thus Job did
regularly.
Satan Attacks Job’s Character
6 Now there was a day
when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan
also came among them. 7
And the LORD said to Satan, “From where do you come?”
So Satan answered the LORD and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and
from walking back and forth on it.”
8 Then the LORD said to
Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the
earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?”
9 So Satan answered the
LORD and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing?
10 Have You not made a
hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every
side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased
in the land. 11 But
now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse
You to Your face!”
12 And the LORD said
to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on
his person.”
So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.
Job Loses His Property and Children
13 Now there was a day
when his sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest
brother’s house; 14
and a messenger came to Job and said, “The oxen were plowing and the donkeys
feeding beside them, 15
when the Sabeans raided them and took them
away—indeed they have killed the servants with the edge of the sword; and I
alone have escaped to tell you!”
16 While he was still
speaking, another also came and said, “The fire of God fell from heaven and
burned up the sheep and the servants, and consumed them; and I alone have
escaped to tell you!”
17 While he was still
speaking, another also came and said, “The Chaldeans formed three bands, raided
the camels and took them away, yes, and killed the servants with the edge of the
sword; and I alone have escaped to tell you!”
18 While he was
still speaking, another also came and said, “Your sons and daughters were eating
and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house,
19 and suddenly a
great wind came from across the wilderness and
struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young people, and they
are dead; and I alone have escaped to tell you!”
20 Then Job arose,
tore his robe, and shaved his head; and he fell to the ground and worshiped.
21 And he said:
“ Naked I came from my mother’s womb,
And naked shall I return there.
The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away;
Blessed be the name of the LORD.”
22 In all this Job did
not sin nor charge God with wrong.
Satan Attacks Job’s Health
1
Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the
LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.
2 And the LORD said to
Satan, “From where do you come?”
Satan answered the LORD and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from
walking back and forth on it.”
3 Then the LORD said to
Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the
earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil? And still
he holds fast to his integrity, although you incited Me against him, to destroy
him without cause.”
4 So Satan answered the
LORD and said, “Skin for skin! Yes, all that a man has he will give for his
life. 5 But stretch out
Your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will surely curse You to
Your face!”
6 And the LORD said to
Satan, “Behold, he is in your hand, but spare his life.”
7 So Satan went out
from the presence of the LORD, and struck Job with painful boils from the sole
of his foot to the crown of his head.
8 And he took for
himself a potsherd with which to scrape himself while he sat in the midst of the
ashes.
9 Then his wife said to
him, “Do you still hold fast to your integrity? Curse God and die!”
10 But he said to her,
“You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from
God, and shall we not accept adversity?” In all this Job did not sin with his
lips.
Job 42:12-17
12
Now the LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; for he had
fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and one
thousand female donkeys. 13
He also had seven sons and three daughters.
14 And he called the
name of the first Jemimah, the name of the second Keziah, and the name of the
third Keren-Happuch. 15
In all the land were found no women so beautiful as the daughters of Job; and
their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers.
16 After this Job
lived one hundred and forty years, and saw his children and grandchildren for
four generations. 17
So Job died, old and full of days.

Psalm 23
A Psalm of David
1 The LORD is my
shepherd; I shall not want. 2
He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with
me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table
before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs
over. 6 Surely goodness
and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house
of the LORD forever.
Baptism
Scriptures
The Bible says that baptism is
key in the salvation of the individual. In the Greek baptism is "baptizo"
which means to immerse, dunk, or plunge. Sprinkling was never a form of
baptism in the Bible. We are given the gift of the Holy Spirit ( Acts 2:38
) with baptism and John 3:5 mentions you must be born of the water and Spirit or
you cannot enter the Kingdom of God. Also Jesus was baptized and was
SINLESS. So how can we who are sinners not be baptized? It also
mentions in Romans 6:3-4 that we are BURIED in baptism. No
sprinkling. There is no "sinners prayer" mentioned anywhere in the
Bible. So it's not the sinner's prayer that is going to save you it is
confessing Jesus Christ and being baptized under the water in the name of the
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit that will give you the gift of the Holy Spirit and
get your name in the Lamb's Book of Life for as long as you remain
faithful. The
scriptures below show that baptism saves.
Mark 16:16
He who
believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be
condemned.
John 3:5
Jesus
answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the
Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
Acts 2:38
Then
Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of
Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the
Holy Spirit.
1 Peter 3:21-22
There is
also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the
flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection
of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God,
angels and authorities and powers having been made subject to
Him.
Matthew 28:19-20
Go
therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of
the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20
teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with
you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Romans 6:3-4
Or do you not know that as
many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore
we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was
raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in
newness of life.
Galatians
3:26-28
For you are all sons of God
through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ
have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor
free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ
Jesus.
Colossians
2:11-14
In Him you were also
circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of
the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, buried with Him in
baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the
working of God, who raised Him from the dead. And you, being dead in your
trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with
Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting
of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken
it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
John Baptizes Jesus - Matthew
3:13-17
Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be
baptized by him. And John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I need to be
baptized by You, and are You coming to me?” But Jesus answered and said to him,
“Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all
righteousness.” Then he allowed Him.
When He had been baptized, Jesus came
up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and
He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And
suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in
whom I am well pleased.”

The
Beatitudes
Spoken by
Jesus
Matthew
5:1-12
1
And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His
disciples came to Him. 2
Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:
3 “ Blessed are
the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are
those who mourn,
For they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are
the meek,
For they shall inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are
those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are
the merciful,
For they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are
the pure in heart,
For they shall see God.
9 Blessed are
the peacemakers,
For they shall be called sons of God.
10 Blessed are
those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11
“Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil
against you falsely for My sake.
12 Rejoice and be
exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they
persecuted the prophets who were before you.
The Model Prayer
Spoken by Jesus
Matthew 6:5-14
5
“And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray
standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be
seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.
6 But you, when you
pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father
who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will
reward you openly. 7
And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For
they think that they will be heard for their many words.
8 “Therefore do not be
like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.
9 In this manner,
therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom
come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this
day our daily bread.
12 And forgive
us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
13 And do not
lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
14 “For if you forgive
men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
15 But if you do not
forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

The return of
Jesus our Lord
1 Corinthians 15:51-53
51 Behold, I tell you a mystery:
We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last
trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible,
and we shall be changed. 53 For this
corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on
immortality.
1 Thessalonians 4:15-17
15 For this we say to you by the
word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of
the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a
shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead
in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we
who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the
clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the
Lord.
2 Corinthians 5:6-8
6 So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in
the body we are absent from the Lord. 7
For we walk by faith, not by sight. 8 We
are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be
present with the Lord.
Matthew 24:30
30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear
in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see
the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great
glory.
Luke 21:25-28
25 “And there will be
signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of
nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26 men’s hearts failing them from fear and the
expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the
heavens will be shaken. 27 Then they
will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 Now when these things begin to happen, look
up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”
Wind and waves obey
Jesus
Matthew 8:23-27
23 Now when He got into a boat, His disciples
followed Him. 24 And suddenly a great
tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He
was asleep. 25 Then His disciples came
to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!” 26 But He said to them, “Why are you fearful,
O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and
there was a great calm. 27 So the men
marveled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey
Him?”
Christ on a White Horse
Revelation
19:11-16
Now I saw
heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was
called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.
His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many
crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word
of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean,
followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with
it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of
iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty
God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING
OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. Click here for picture:

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name
of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe
all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the
end of the age.” Amen.
Romans 6:8-11
8 Now if we died with
Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,
9 knowing that Christ,
having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion
over Him. 10 For the
death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He
lives to God. 11
Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God
in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Luke 21:25-26
“And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the
earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26
men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which
are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
Matthew 7:7-8
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will
be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and
to him who knocks it will be opened.
Matthew 24:30
Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes
of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds
of heaven with power and great glory.
Matthew 16:27
For the Son of Man will come in
the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according
to his works.
John 14:27
27
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give
to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Romans 8:38-39
38
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities
nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,
39 nor height nor
depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love
of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Matthew 26:63-64
63 But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him, “I put
You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of
God!” 64 Jesus said to him, “It is as you said. Nevertheless, I say to you,
hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power,
and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
Revelation 22:12-13
12
“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one
according to his work. 13
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the
Last.”
Scriptures about the Holy Spirit
Acts 2:1-4
1
When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one
place. 2 And suddenly there came a
sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house
where they were sitting. 3 Then
there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each
of them. 4 And they were all filled
with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave
them utterance.
Luke 3:21-22
21
When all the people were baptized, it came to pass that Jesus also was baptized;
and while He prayed, the heaven was opened.
22 And the Holy Spirit
descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven
which said, “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”
Acts 4:31
And when they had prayed,
the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all
filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
Romans 8:26-27
26 Likewise the Spirit
also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we
ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which
cannot be uttered. 27
Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is,
because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Ephesians 3:14-19
14
For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 from whom the whole
family in heaven and earth is named,
16 that He would grant
you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through
His Spirit in the inner man,
17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being
rooted and grounded in love,
18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and
length and depth and height—
19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be
filled with all the fullness of God.
Romans 8:13-14
13
For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you
put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
14 For as many as are
led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
Romans 14:16-18
16 Therefore do not
let your good be spoken of as evil;
17 for the kingdom of
God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy
Spirit. 18 For he who
serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by
men.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
19
Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in
you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
20 For you were bought
at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are
God’s.
Ephesians 1:11-14
11
In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the
purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will,
12 that we who first
trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.
13 In Him you also
trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation;
in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,
14 who is the
guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession,
to the praise of His glory.
Ephesians 4:30
And do not grieve the Holy
Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Titus 3:4-6
4
But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared,
5 not by works of
righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us,
through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
6 whom He poured out on
us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
7 that having been
justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal
life.
1 John 5:7
For there are three that
bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these
three are one.
Jude 1:20-21
20 But you, beloved,
building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,
21 keep yourselves in
the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal
life.
John 14:26
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit,
whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to
your remembrance all things that I said to you.
John 15:26
“But when the Helper comes, whom I
shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the
Father, He will testify of Me.
Mark 13:11
But when they arrest you and deliver you
up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is
given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
The Mighty Angel
with the Little Book
Revelation
10-1-7
1 I saw still another mighty angel coming down from
heaven, clothed with a cloud. And a rainbow was on his head, his face
was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire. 2 He had a little book open in his hand. And he set his
right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land, 3 and cried with a loud voice, as when
a lion roars. When he cried out, seven thunders uttered their voices. 4 Now when the seven thunders uttered their
voices, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven saying to me,
“Seal up the things which the seven thunders uttered, and do not write
them.” 5
The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised up his hand to
heaven 6 and swore by Him who lives
forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth
and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that
there should be delay no longer, 7 but
in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the
mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the
prophets. Click here to see picture: 7th

The War in
Heaven
Revelation
12:7-9
And war broke
out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and
his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in
heaven any longer. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called
the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and
his angels were cast out with him. Click here to see picture:

Peter's Sermon:
Acts 2:14-21
14 But Peter, standing up with the
eleven, raised his voice and said to them, “Men of Judea and all who dwell in
Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words.
15 For these are not drunk, as you
suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day.
16 But this is what was spoken by
the prophet Joel:
17 ‘ And it shall come to
pass in the last days, says God,
That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your young men shall see visions,
Your old men shall dream dreams.
18 And on My menservants and
on My maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days;
And they shall prophesy.
19 I will show wonders in
heaven above
And signs in the earth beneath:
Blood and fire and vapor of smoke.
20 The sun shall be turned
into darkness,
And the moon into blood,
Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD.
21 And it shall come to pass
That whoever calls on the name of the LORD
Shall be saved.’
1 Timothy 6:11-16
11 But you, O man of
God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love,
patience, gentleness. 12
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also
called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
13 I urge you in the
sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed
the good confession before Pontius Pilate,
14 that you keep this
commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing,
15 which He will
manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of
kings and Lord of lords, 16
who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has
seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.
